Wedding Planning With Better Ideas

By Natalie Glass

Although it can be a frustrating and stressful time during wedding planning, you can make things a little easier on yourself by following a few simple guidelines.

You need to set a wedding budget and stick with it, learn to delegate, or at least share some of the tasks that will need to be done, review your options and find reputable vendors or service providers and start planning as early as you can.

Weddings are happy occasions and planning one should be fun, so it is important to go in with a positive attitude. Keep in mind that you will be getting the opportunity to check out wonderful venues for your wedding reception, choose lovely flowers, look at dozens of beautiful wedding dresses, as well as taste some delicious cakes.

Start Working On Your Wedding Plans Immediately

As this time leads up to the day of your wedding, the decisions you make and the details you choose are memories you will continue to look back on and talk and laugh about for the rest of your life.

Next on your wedding planning agenda is to start the planning as early as you can, right after the engagement if possible. Consider checking out some of your local bridal shows, shopping around, discussing experiences with some of your married friends, purchasing bridal magazines and even checking out the Internet for ideas and suggestions.

More Time To Relax

The earlier you start the more organized you will be and this means you will have more time to relax as the wedding day nears, something that is normally in very short supply.

As for planning your budget, you both need to sit down and set it up, showing what amounts will be delegated to what services or items that you will need. The more detailed your budget is the easier it will be to stick to it and not go over the amounts that you have listed for each item or category.

Friends And Family Can Give You A Hand

This may seem like a great deal of work to have to do in the beginning, but doing this helps to ensure there will be much less stress and possible conflict about money. This goes hand in hand with enlisting friends and family to give you a hand with certain tasks, such as helping to address wedding invitations, or helping to make the wedding favors and wedding centerpieces.

Finally, when doing your wedding planning, be sure to check around for good vendors; sometimes word of mouth is the best form of advertising. Check with your married friends to see what kind of experience they had and to see if they have suggestions about the different service providers.

Vendors Can Make Or Break Your Wedding

Vendors can actually make or break a wedding so you want to ask for references from them or even try to see them while they are working on someone else’s wedding day meal preparation, dispensing of alcoholic beverages, music, etc.

If you have attended a wedding or other important event and were impressed with the results, then ask the person who hosted the event for the name of their vendors.

Does DIY wedding planning also include the honeymoon?
DIY wedding planning does not have to include the honeymoon if someone else has given it as a gift.

In the past it was traditional for the groom’s parents or family to pay for the honeymoon. But times have changed and now most couples pay for the honeymoon themselves. If this is your situation then you may want to budget in and plan for your own honeymoon.
