Wedding Plan For A Perfect Day
By Natalie Glass
Getting engaged is just the beginning and sometimes
it can be difficult figuring out exactly where to start
planning. The first step is to develop your wedding
plan and get organized, which means that you will need
to be sure that things are where you need them to be,
every time you need them.
You will need to organize all of the things that you
will be collecting, such as pictures of wedding dresses,
perhaps photos of different wedding centerpieces and
other items. You will also very likely to review and
amass tons of phone numbers, estimates and bids, contracts,
receipts and a plethora of other things.
First you will need a wedding planner, but not necessarily
of the human kind. A large wall calendar with a pen
attached will do just fine. If you prefer, you can store
all of your info on a computer, as long as it’s a laptop
and you can always have it handy.
Setting Up The Plan For Your Wedding
Start with a "to-do" list, add it to your
calendar and be sure to get a large three ring binder
with page dividers; plastic protector sheets are a good
idea as well. This helps to ensure that whether you
need to call someone, make an appointment or interview
a vendor or other provider, the information will be
easily found when you need it.
The three ring binder is important when setting up
your wedding plan. It is an easy way to stay organized
by keeping all of the information in one central place,
which will save you much time and frustration.
A Divider For Each Part Of Your Plan
This can also be used later as a keepsake. If you choose
one that has a plastic cover, then later you can use
a wedding picture of you, the groom and the wedding
party as the cover.
You may also want to include one of those zippered
pencil holders so that you will always have pens or
hi-lighters easily accessible when you need them. Make
sure to use a divider for each section of the wedding,
such as for caterers, flowers, music, photography,
etc.
A few other sections in the binder that you may want
to consider adding, especially if you have opted for
DIY wedding planning, are favorite websites for wedding
planning, decorations and crafts and any other make-it-yourself
topics.
Be Prepared With A List Of Questions
When you are going to interview potential vendors be
sure to take a notepad with you so that you can make
notes during your interviews. Have a list of questions
ready on the pad as well.
When you get back home be sure to write down in your
wedding plan notebook your thoughts and first impressions
of the different vendors, as it may help later when
you are making your decision about which one to hire.

Is DIY wedding planning hard?
DIY wedding planning can be as
difficult or as easy as you make it. Whether or not
it is hard all depends on you. If you are unorganized
then it is going to be harder for you than someone who
is organized. The key is organization and time management
skills.
Without those two key abilities,
your wedding could be a disaster. While planning a wedding
does take the ability to see the whole picture, the
most successful planners know that it is a step by step
process. If you try to do too much at once you will
get overwhelmed.
