Sydney Australia Vacations To Live, Work And Play

By Julia Barnes

Students and recent graduates are invited to take surprisingly affordable "Work and Play" Sydney Australia vacations to broaden their horizons and add to their resumes. Through a partnership between V Australia Airlines and STA Travel, students can find travel deals to Sydney for as low as $676 for round-trip airfare.

Additionally, they will be permitted to live and work in Australia for up to 12 months with the proper Visa. James Bell, the Commercial VP of STA Travel, puts it this way: "Taking up to a year to work and play in Australia becomes a real possibility for many people when they realize resources are there to help them be successful - accommodations when they arrive, job training and leads, and to be connected to a nationwide network of young people looking to explore all that Australia has to offer."

Low Cost Sydney Vacations

The first step toward a Sydney, Australia vacation is booking a flight. Low-cost Sydney vacations can be booked from Los Angeles to Sydney for just $676 round-trip (plus tax) on the brand new V Australia airlines.

The newest international airline company caters specifically to young adults, with "rock star service" from their award-winning cabin crew, "mood lighting" to match the phases of the flight, "ergonomically-designed seats" that claim to be the "Pacific’s widest" (available even for the economy travelers), two in-flight bars, USB ports to power personal devices, on-demand movies/music/games, seat-to-seat chat, self-service snack kiosks and full-service meals. Once a person is granted the Australian work visa, then he or she will be eligible to enter Australia within 12 months of the grant date, to stay for up to 12 months, to leave/re-enter limitless times during that year, to study for up to 4 months and to undertake employment with any one employer for up to six months.

Examples Of Working Students

There are many things students can do on Sydney Australia vacations. They can review options to work as bartenders, ranch hands, waiters, festival organizers, conservationists, flight attendants, surf instructors and wine producers for example.

They can study at one of the many Australian universities to receive transferable credits for the school of their choice back home. What is the history behind Sydney?
Most people associate Australia with the British and the Aborigines but it goes back farther than that. Scientists now believe that the entire Sydney region was been inhabited for 30,000 through the use of carbon dating. The first people were the Cadigal people.

It is funny but when the British arrived they asked the indigenous people of the area where they were from. The people replied "Eora" so the British called them this not understanding that in their language "Eora" meant "here."

Later as more British fleets arrived they colonized the area as a penal settlement. Criminals from other British land holdings would be sent to the Sydney area.

Later the British determined that the area was not suitable for this purpose because there was a lack of fresh water and had poor soil conditions so they moved the convict settlement farther up the coast to what was named Sydney Cove after the British Home Secretary, Thomas Townshend, Lord Sydney.

It was not until the 19th century that Sydney actually began to flourish as more people flocked to this native land. Since then it has continued to grow. With having such a unique and interesting history it does make it an ideal vacation spot so a Sydney vacation could also be a chance to see pieces of history not found anywhere else.
