Las Vegas USA Online Dating Secret Friends Guide
Las Vegas USA Job Market And Tourist Trade
By Julia Barnes
If you’re the type of person who thrives on the nightlife,
bright lights, world-class eating and little sleep,
then Las Vegas USA may be the job market for you! Why
not trade in those cross-country skis for desert palm
trees and enjoy every spare moment completely?
Las Vegas jobs are ideal for people who are trained
in engineering, construction and health services, but
there is also a money-train for those rare, super dynamic
personalities who know how to light up a room. To start
your Vegas job search, you may want to review sites
like www.craigslist.org,
www.lasvegasjobs.com,
www.monster.com
or the local newspapers.
In Las Vegas news, The Nevada Economy in Brief states
that Las Vegas Nevada lost 0.4% of its jobs last year,
due to the economic downturn that affected all American
cities. The housing bust has hurt the Vegas construction
market temporarily, leaving 95,000 construction workers
jobless.
Temporary Downturn
Construction suffered an 8.2% loss, although Las Vegas
jobs are still higher for the industry than in other
states. Information jobs declined by 2.6%, financial
activities decreased 2.4%, business services dropped
4.3% and leisure/hospitality jobs showed a 0.5% loss
because of rising fuel costs.
Although, experts suggest that this Las Vegas downturn
is only temporary, since the city experienced explosive
growth throughout the 80s, 90s and early 2000s.
Many Jobs In Healthcare, Engineering And Retail
According to www.monster.com,
there are more than 1,854 Las Vegas USA job offerings,
including Package Handler (UPS), Hospitality Team Manager
(Einstein Brothers Bagel), Service Associates (Wal-mart),
Physician’s Assistant/Pharmacist/Physician (US Airforce),
SCA Aircraft Mechanic (Computer Sciences Corp), Occupational
Therapist (Life Care Centers of America), Manager of
Game Development (Volt Services), Media Consultant (Yellowbook),
Mobile Pet Stylist (PET Co), Food Service Director (SAGE
Dining), 3-D Graphic Designer (HireSource Solutions),
Account Executive (CBS Radio) and Middle School Teachers
(Nobel Learning).
For many workers in industries like health care, engineering
or retail, the world is their oyster and there is no
better location than Las Vegas Nevada, where world-class
restaurants and the best in entertainment meets pleasant
weather and picturesque natural surroundings.
More Expensive To Live In Las Vegas
According to www.xomba.com,
7,000 people move to Las Vegas USA each month but there
are plenty of jobs available. Many fall into the $8-12
range or call for highly experienced, highly skilled
employees.
The average wage, however, remains a considerable $17.49/hour.
Keep in mind that real estate classifieds list many
houses for $225,000-$300,000 so you’ll need to make
more loot to live here.
Looking For Jobs With Off Strip Casinos
Casino jobs are very competitive, so don’t expect to
breeze into town and immediately take over without an
extensive resume. Off-strip casinos may be a good place
to start, says the Las Vegas Review-Journal. For instance,
MGM-Mirage owns three off-strip properties, some of
which are more than 25 miles away.
Of the 2,800 employees, 52 transferred to highly coveted
MGM-Mirage properties on the Las Vegas Strip after one
year and another 340 were promoted or transferred to
other more lucrative departments, proving that hard
work and perseverance does pay off.
